Churches Of Santo Domingo
Our journey begins across the Rio Ozama in the place where it all began - the place where the first city was founded. Our guide will recreate the story of how the city was built around its churches. You will have the unique opportunity to admire the Gothic buildings still in existence in the New World.
Our route takes us along: Capilla del Rosario, Metropolitan Cathedral Basilica Santa Maria de la Encarnacion, Primate of America, Church of the Convent of Santa Clara, Imperial Convent of Santo Domingo (Dominican), Church of La Altagracia, Ermita de San Anton, Santa Barbara, among others.
Our precious extensive tour will conclude with a visit to the Western Hemisphere Cathedral, Santa Maria la Menor. This Cathedral was built between 1510 and 1540 and was made the first of the New World in 1510 by Pope Paul III.
